Hogwarts Legacy: PS5 graphics modes and VRR support confirmed

“Hogwarts Legacy” will support various modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, allowing players to choose between better graphics and higher frame rates. VRR is also supported.

Portkey Games has published information about the graphics modes of “Hogwarts Legacy.” Players can choose between several settings on the current-gen consoles, as is the case with many other games of the current generation. According to the release, Fidelity mode will support 30 fps, and Performance mode will support 60 fps.

“The PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions of Hogwarts Legacy support multiple graphical modes of play, the most common of which are Fidelity mode which runs at 30 fps, and Performance mode which targets 60 fps,” the related faq reads.

VRR will also be supported

The studio also announced that VRR can be used with compatible TVs: Graphical modes for players who have Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)-supported TVs or monitors are supported for Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S.” the developers said.

With Hogwarts Legacy, players can expect an open-world role-playing game that lets them explore Hogwarts and other locations as wizards “live the unwritten and embark on a perilous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.”

The title was originally scheduled for release in 2021 under Warner’s Portkey Games label but was pushed back to 2022. Another release adjustment made fans wait until 2023.

“Hogwarts Legacy” will launch on February 10, 2023, for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions are scheduled to follow in April, while the Nintendo Switch edition is slated for a July launch. Pre-orders are still possible, for example, as a Deluxe Edition for the PS5.
